hey guys,

towing boat home from the lake and S.E.S light came on .. drove home and light stayed on.. no black smoke. scanned code p0236 . checked lines have good vacuum. But computer is showing truck has 15psi of boost at idle and 25 at high rpm...I did not reset code and light is no longer on.. all stock except pmd relocation 95k miles .. I dont want to drive but i need truck asap!! thanks for any help..

 

My 2000 did the same thing , sounds like you need a boost sensor , mine was around 65 from the local dealer

 

if the SES Light didn't come back you maybe all good to go just watch your boost guage

 

thank you for all the help . Truck has been in shop no c.e.s light but truck does noy have any power. pedal to the floor only has 2100 rpm and no power at all.. no smoking.. cant find a good diesel mechanic.. anybody have any ideas what could be wrong?

 

Well if you making 15lbs boost and don't HP program the truck will defuel and lost power.

Try taking waste gate rod off at turbo and make sure the lever not stick

 

crazy, I can move rod freely when truck is not running and when vacumm hose is off.. when truck is in park i can rev engine and makes white smoke at 2700 rpm..I ordered new cdr valve ,boost selenoid and map sensor.. they should be here in the morning.. s.e.s light has not turned on since.. i am stumped!! thanks for your help and ideas..
