Default Caught some codes !

I was waiting to see what the codes were on my 6.5 that was smoking a lot but intermittently. The codes were P0401 and P0406 EGR not working properly. I'm wondering if where it sat for so long and the problem seems to be less frequent, could it have been sticking and the more its driven maybe will work out of it? Hopeful. Will be relocating PMD when cable arrives. Also would like to get ideas on getting better fuel economy.Aspiration? Thanks for any comments Guys!
