Sad 6.5

i have a 6.5 turbo diesel and it blows black smoke sometime and loss power and if u keep patting the gas it will take off and stop smoking :

how is your air cleaner do you still have stock exhaust system if so cat maybe clog and also make sure vacuum , waste gate is all working right

k&N air filter took cat off waste gate with truck idle cant move with hand

is the k&n filter cleaned. describe the black smoke. is it a puff until the turbo spools or a large cloud?

thats normal. engine doesnt have enough air while its spooling up to match the fuel being injected so it smokes for a second or two before the turbo is spooled up enough to provide suffient air to match the fuel and clear up the exhaust.

junk K&n filter and put the paper filter back in
