How do you know if your turbo is bad on a 6.5

What r the signs of a bad turbo and how can you tell if it's working

If it spins its working but the wastegate could be messed up. Need some more info as to what goin on here...

It is smoking bad and losing oil and don't know where its going when it warms up it stops
