cool Looking for horses...

My Uncle got his 6.5 K1500 today...

Knowing it only has 180 horses we're looking for a few more...

I know this will be a lot harder quest than with my 2nd gen Cummins...

What can we do for a little more, for a little less ($$$) ???

How much boost can these 6.5 take and how do you advance timing on these IP?

How much boost are we seeing STOCK, and are these Borg Warner turbos good for anything over OEM ?

1) start off buy moving PMD to front bumper with heat sink

2) get set gauges

3) get new exhaust with 3" dp to 4" back and cross over pipe

4) turbo master on set boost 10psi stock chip or ECM and then delete vacuum pump the belt size will be 1 inch shorter

5) get chip or reflash ECM depended on yr of truck

6) set the pump -1.94

Stock boost 8psi it hit 10psi for sec. with chip or reflash ECM you can turn up to 15psi will be max

if not 97+ yr get 97+ air filter set up

if injectors over 100,000 miles get new one have pop test and set for 2300

x2 but you dont need a turbomaster. stock vac system runs better with a proper tune and properly running vac system imho

bigger turbo, some custom tuning, bigger injectors. not many people have done it. call bill heath like it said above. he has a 6.5 with about 450 crank horsepower so he knows what to do.

if you want 300 at the crank your going to have to spend a little money to the keep the old 6.5 together. its not as strong as a cummins
