Default 96 TD Injectors

I am looking towards putting new injectors in my truck. I am looking at some sold local $229 for Marine injectors - Pensacola Fuel Injection | Worlds #1 Diesel Rebuilder - CHEVY/GM UP TO 99 :: 40HP 6.5L MARINE INJECTORS :: GMC/CHEVY 6.5L Marine Injectors (Extra 40 HP Gain) I don't see the point in paying $450 for a set of injectors from ssdiesel. What are other brands to look at? I am wanting better fuel ecomony.

for one thing wasted money if putting in Mariner injectors if not running kojo or Heath max tork program

The injectors are not going gave you 40 Hp the in injectors is what put out the fuel

I am sick of all the different stories. I do not know who to believe. I have SS Diesel and a mechanic freind telling me that you do get power and mpg gains by installing marine injectors because the injector sprays a different amount of fuel and different spray pattern but sends the rest out the nipples. The injection pump will not put out more fuel without computer programming, true. But marine injectors make better use of the fuel supplied. Yet i also have people telling me marine injectors are a waste of money. Who the hell do i beleive? I dont want to waste anymore money on this truck for it not to pay off. I already wasted $700.

first of all i wouldnt believe much of what ss diesel is saying. they have a history of false advertisements. secondly yes they do change the spray pattern slighty but it only really affects it at high rpm and with a stock program your really not going to feel much and they dont allow more fuel in.

thirdly pensacola diesel injectors are not known for being of the best quality. lots of horror stories about leaky injectors and the injector pissing fuel instead of atomizing it. i would just get some stock bosch injectors from rockauto.com or from moneyslave on ebay. then take it to a diesel shop and have them pop tested and blanced to 2200 psi. you will be happy and it will only be a little bit more money than these marine pensacola injectors

I had a set of marine injectors in a 6.5 and to tell you the truth from my experience is they are a waste of money. One is there is no way they add 40hp as far as power is concerned the only difference I noticed was the power curve was at a higher rpm. I would do exactly as woody said if I was going to do anything.

Default marine injectors

ok so im going to tell you exactly what is the difference between regular injectors and the marine injectors for the 6.5td. first marine injectors have a circular spray pattern instead of a fan patter in the normal injectors. second they are better in cold temp because of the pattern and material. they will NOT increase your hp more than any other set of new injectors would. But they are more reliable and if your have been having problems with burning threw injectors they help. there life is about double what regular injectors are. depending on what your trying to do with your truck there are many different ways to increase hp. A1 customs makes a turbo/fuel adjustment harnes that will run about 350 it allows you to increase your fuel output with one rotational swich and with the second you can increase you turbo max up to 15+. it is all controlled inside your cab and is a good investment for more hp while still keeping it as a daily driver. I run a diesel performance shop in alaska and do alot to these trucks if you have any other questions msg me

A1 customs is the biggest snake oil sales venue for 6.5's,his harness is just a boost fooler to prevent coding from higher boost when a turbomaster is used.

The only way to get a true benefit from marine injectors is to run the marine DB4 IP.

As long as your injectors are built using bosch nozzles set to pop at the prescribed or slightly higher pop pressure, and are balanced within 5% of each other you have the best available combination using stock or any other injectors.

The injector is not the bottlenck in the fuel delivery system, the IP is the limiting factor-stock injectors are capable of flowing more fuel than the IP can provide.

Bosch,Delphi or Stanadyne nozzles only for rebuild replacement or buying already built or new injectors.

DO NOT DEAL WITH SSDIESEL OR A1 CUSTOMS both are a joke, they lie and their products are junk. They are in buisness to screw people out of money, stay away far away.

Well that being said. Marine injectors give no real power upgrades, the ip is what controls the fueling, Upgrade the ip with internal mods or tuned ECMs and then you might get more potential from the marine injectors

All you need is some genuine Bosch injectors, or delphi and stanadyne. Be sure all injectors are pop tested to 2200psi. If new injectors can not be had, have you stock originals rebuilt with only genuine Bosch nozzles.

Unless you have upgraded turbo and fuel demand commanded by the PCM marine injectors will do nothing for you, you do not need a marine DB-4 IP a properly set up DS-4 electronic IP program, and adjusted mechanical ip can get benefit from marine injectors. To quantify how much wellll that is the is the big question, I did marine injectors before programming no net gain, it took the reflash to wake up the fuel, and it is measurable watch the EGT gauge and you can see it, most will benefit from a fresh set of quality stock injectors, anything above 100K miles is getting long in tooth, IMO marine injector are last in the line of performance adders.

Some would have you believe that "adjustable fuel rate controllers" that work on the fly, and swapping out PMD resistors will net you huge gains. TOTAL Bovine Scatology to quote a famous general; A-1 crapstoms is the bane to the 6.5er, and SS Diesel well good luck with that if you ever have a problem with their products.

I have been debunking A-1 for as long as I've been on the web so much so I get a personal mention on his web site and I'm proud of that accomplisment as it means I'm suceeding in getting out the truth so much it hurts him where it counts, yes I promote Heath products in my signature why ????? because they work, so does John Kennedy's stuff, Greg @ lubricationspecialist, and PMDdiesel.coms, ATT turbos, and KOJO tunes, and others, but A-1.... is the real buyer beware.

Anybody that says they have gotten performance gains from a A-1 piece of crap is a liar, not admitting the truth, or some other way dis-illusioned (they spent the money so it has gotta be working isn't it ?????), the stuff A-1 uses for a $350 "performance adder" is a variable potentiometer, some wire, and some connectors about $15 worth of parts assemebled in about 30 minutes that does not do anything until PCM learns the new value which does not happen "on the fly" PCM is what governs fuel delivery not the calibration fuel resistance, folks bitch about the cost of a quality reflash which is required for full gains for the electronic IP timing-fuel-boost & transmission shifting, when you see the hunk of junk A-1 sells you'll really be bitching.
