The nice thing about diesel is there is only fuel unlike a gas guzzler which has fuel and spark. If the engine has not suffered a major malfunction and dies the first thing to check is that you are getting fuel to the injection pump. If you are not then there is a problem before the pump. If you are getting fuel to the ip most likely its the ip.
The tools you need to carry are just a normal tool kit with maybe a set of line wrenches.

Thanxxx, well I started it major fuel leak & it requires to be plugged in on 50 degree day - - but then starts right up. so I guess glo plugs ???? If so Delco, or Bosch or ??? There is a fuel leak which seems to be coming from some little tiny plug on drivers side middle to rear ?return line?) which is wire-tied on ??? I did get the Chev shop manual. The manual is great AND disappointing, anybody recommend one better than Chevrolet's?? thanxxx - Am I using this site properly - thanxxx
