Default Low MPG

Ok got my truck going good. runs great no more issues at all no smoke unless it sits in the cold for a while and tons of power. Fixed all the vacum line and got turbo boosting and everything. The only thing i m unsure about is only getting between 9.8 and 10.2 MPG. Is this normal? i hear people getting like 12 to 17 and i way away from that. Now i did have a heavy foot the first half a tank just to see what the truck could do. But i haven t haul anything or anything like that to affect it that much.

It should be getting better than that. My 95 gets about 18. I would check to make sure you have not got a fuel leak first and then change the air and fuel filters.

I just did the air filter and fuel filter and oil change. There are no fluid leaks of any kind fuel or anything. I have the stock 265/75/16 tires on it. I have only run 1 tank of fuel through it so far. It had a full tank when i got it. But i do know the fuel has been in it since april and it was off road diesel. A farm had the truck before me and thats what they ran in it. This next tank will be on road pump diesel. I m going to hook up a boost gauge just to make sure i m getting all the boost i should. But i do have a exhaust leaks Right where the down pipe hooks into the turbo. I didnt think that would effect to much because it is down stream from the turbo. I will get that fixed soon just looks like a pain in the *** so i have put it off until later but if it will effect MPG the i will stop putting it off

ya run new full tank fuel see what you get

your exhaust leak is right at clamp try tighting it and could affect MPG and boost these truck don't like exhaust leaks

are you running stock exhaust still that will have lot do wit fuel mpg most like the cat and muffler clog up and down pipe all bend up and the cross over pipe to small

I just filled up and will have to et back to you on what i get. It just had a new cross over pipe put on it. And i m pretty sure there is no cat on it. I was under it messing with the starter and didnt see it right under the passenger side floor board. Just straight pipe back. But dont remember if there was anyhting back past that. I know there is a muffler but i dont know if diesel cats are back before the muffler. And i got a boost gauge today havent got it on yet but still pretty sure i m not getting boost. When i out my thumb ove the vacum line i dont feel it sucking at all. But that was at a idle so dont knoe if i get more at anything higher then idle. I will be installing it this weekend and will let you know
