By chance, did you unplug a connection from the back of the engine??

I broke off one of the studs on the control some how, just my freakn luck. So now if I can't fix that can I still hook it up but put a toggle between them and just do it flip it on when I want to start it or should i just spend the money and replace it

Can run the glow pugs off a momentary toggle switch. But be sure to still use the relay.

Negative. Go to an auto parts store and ask for a F492 relay. Then run the power wire, GP wire, and toggle (momentary would be better) switch. IIRC, you'd be out $12 for that relay. They have the same thing, but for early 6.9/7.3s and name them "glow plug controller" then charge $79 for them.

I looked up that relay online, so i one stud hook up the red positive wire, on the other side hook up the black wires, which i assume go to the glow plugs, what about the other wires that hook into the top of the existing control and do I hook my switch to the other two smaller ones on the relay you mentioned? Sorry just don't want to mess anything else up
