Turbo has never been off the engine or the upper intake. I am going to check and reseal where I tapped the intake for my boost gauge. That seems to be more like my problem at this point and also at the gauge.

I checked out everything that you guys suggested except for the heavier spring. I tightened up the 11.5lb spring and got to 5-6 psi today (whoo hoo) and the truck ran a little better but not much. The whistleing was a hair more. I have no leaks anywhere, where do I go from here find a heavier spring and go from there? Thanks for any help on this. By the way is there anybody that anybody knows of that is good with hydraulics, got a few questions.

The hydraulics are for the crane on my truck and the hydraulic system. I have a belt driven pump and a hydraulic compressor and crane on the truck. I have had some issues with it due to a mechanic messing up the parking brake on my truck. I know it sounds stupid but a long story for another time (used to have pto, mechanic messed up pto when working on parking brake, now have belt pump). As for my exhaust it is 3" aftermarket down pipe that goes into 4". The Boost gauge hook up is just after the bend in the intake away from the turbo. I am concluding that if I get a heavier spring I will get more boost due to tightening up the existing and getting a couple more pounds out of it. I could be wrong it wont be the first time that is for sure. I am also due for injectors soon so that could be part of it but truck is running best it ever has at this point, performance wise. I can here a bit more whistle from before but not where it should be. Thanks guys..

i had 3 or 4 these trucks and each one was diff i had some whistle loud and one that wouldn't

one thing are you still running the 94 air filter set up if so you may want try 97+ set up also on 96 down inside fender wall is a snorkel and it restricted air flow if you haven't pull out yet do so

The air filter is a custom built intake (just K&N and a aluminum elbow) similar the the air raid or K&N kits. I also fabbed up a shroud to keep the hot air away from it. I will pull out the snorkel piece when I get a chance. What do you think about the spring theory, could it be a possiblity?

I believe that the turbo won't whistle worth a sh*t on these trucks, at least not like my cummins of past. I custom made a turbo master for about $4 and it works the same as the $150 from heath at least in theory. I am running a 11.5 lb spring on it now and tightend it up the other day and got a couple lbs more boost but only getting a peak of 6 psi WOT. It sucks, I have all fuel issues worked out and all else. I am left to believe that the spring is the culprit here. I'm going to try a 20 lb spring and see what happens. My truck weighs almost double what the 2500's do so another two lbs of boost I'm sure is getting her up and going just a hair more.
