Default I Miss my old pickup

Hello GM diesel enthusiasts,

I have a couple of questions. My first diesel was a '95 6.5na in a half ton. Nobody ever believes me when I say this, which comes to my first question. Was this some sort of freak pickup? The emissions sticker verified that it did come with a na engine, but its the only one I've ever seen! Second, this pickup seemed to run better than its turbo counterparts. I had a couple of friends with 6.5 turbos and they were turds! My pickup would run circles around them, even though both were equipped with 3.73 gearsets. Any ideas why guys? And third, if anyone ever sees one of these pickups, please let me know! I sold mine to a close friend and it got severely rear-ended about six months afterwards (seems like a recurring thing whenever i sell a vehicle). I miss the economy and ride compared to my dodge's. Oh, was the 6.5 na offered in anything else? I know they are in H1's. A na tahoe/blazer would be sweet!

i have no idea why they didnt make many na 6.5s in pickups past 93. as far as why it felt stronger the wasteagate in turbo'd 6.5 is controlled by a vaccum pump and soleniods. these tend to fail so turbo trucks basically become na trucks with large exhaust restrictions cause turbo cant make boost because of no vaccum to hold wastegate shut. your na 6.5 with no turbo was probably making similar power and since it had no turbo it was fast to accerlate.

I have a 94 half ton with the 6.5 turbo and it is a turd. I have to look into my vacuum, I can hear the turbo going down the road but when i'm in the back woods it just seems to not run like I thought it would
