mine is the same year and does the same thing when i rev it at idol, except the first time i rev it the smoke is white and after that its black. if it does that after a cold start it could just be that the motor is cold, these motors dont seem to warm up at idol very good until you drive them a few miles

Blowbly means compression loss via it getting around the piston rings and into the crankcase. It's common, but too much of it indicates excessive cylinder wear. If you take your oil cap off and see what looks like white smoke oozing out, that's blowby. If it looks like a steam locomotive from the wild west, or when you put your hand over it it pressurizes so much you can't hold it on, then you have a problem.

my 93 6.5td does the same thing with the whitesmoke but it smells like its healthy for what it is. i get smoke coming out of the oil cap but i can hold my hand over the cap for a while(until i decided to take my hand off after 30 seconds or so). the two front injectors closest to the fan aren't dry but those are the only two not dry. the truck does burn some oil though. at 70mph the truck vibrates and i can feel it in the seat. i was told that the white smok out the exhaust when warm is good and means good tuning but from what it seems like whites smoke out the exhaust even when its warmed up is not good.
