Fuel minded
Its just that reg diesel is getn hard to find were i live everyone switch to bio but i do what i have to to get diesel. Meens just put a new IP in about 4 months ago! Thanks crazy!
Since the hippies pushed for the ULSD, the process of removal of the sulfur also takes out some of the lubricating properties of diesel fuel. In effect, this was one reason why diesels have the reputation (history) of lasting as long as they do. Thus, some of us running more "experienced" diesels need to add something to our fuel in order to restore it's lubricity. Some people use OTC additives, some use 2 cycle, some even use WMO. There have even been studies done (link to follow) to test the lubricating properties of different additives. I used some of this data, as well as cost and availability, to decide upon 2 cycle. I'll dig up that data and get back to you.

Neither have I before recently. I worked as a manager at AutoZone for years and gave advice to thousands, and never heard of using 2 cycle. But when you think of it, AZ corporate probably wouldn't have condoned me advising people to use something they can buy at $10 a gallon, instead of $6 a quart. For my 6.2 it works like a charm. I can't say I'd tell you to put it in a 2010 Dirtymax, but it should do great in your '94 6.5l Detroit.

note: at a 200:1 ratio that is. Your 94 Blazer has a 30 gallon tank. Let's say you (like most of us) fill up close to empty or around 1/4 tank. For the sake of easy math that you fill it up with 25 gallons. 128 ounces to a gallon multiplied by 25 gallons of fuel comes to 3200 ounces of total fuel at fill up. With a 200:1 ratio, that comes to 16 ounces of 2 cycle per fill up. Save yourself some money by buy ing the Wal-Mart "Supertec" TC3 2 cycle by the gallon and get a measuring filter (clear and blue with a valve, available at Wal-Mart). Personally, I leave my engine running during fueling and add the oil just before I pump. I never see or hear a change in the idle signaling a disagreement of the motor with the temporary increase in oil/fuel ratio. I did however notice a change going from using ULSD to a 200:1 mix. My engine definitely runs smoother, sounds sweeter, and I get no unwanted smoke. I can't with great confidence state that I have had an increase in power output, but my gut tells me so. This truck was off the road and left static from August, 2006 until June of this year. When I did all the work to get it back in service, I was extra worried that something may fail. For the first few months I babied the hell out of it. Now I drive it like I stole it.
