Good thread I wish I would of read this before I bought my truck.

I have Blow by truck looks like it is on fire but the oil pressure is at 20psi at idel and goes up to about 35 psi

 

DONT DO IT, buy a CUMMINS

 

I would also check for blow by, I guess I missed on that when I was buying mine. I guess the only thing I could say is: since you own a a truck with cummins, don't be looking for too much power out of them. No offense to anyone, I myself own 93 6.5td, and let me tell you never in my life I had so much grief. But I still love my truck, so I guess to each his own. May be just get a first gen cummins, and spent some time and money on that, just my 2 cents. I had no idea what I'm getting into, but now I know enough, be ready to put some money into the truck, the IP is weak and if you have the PMD, sorry pain in the ***. I heard that the 6.2 have stronger blocs, but who the hell knows. Good luck and have fun, and be gentle on the those engines.
