Default PMD?

I am pretty sure I know what the problem is just want to make sure I don't over look anything. My dad is over 150 miles from home the truck is a 94 so it has a pmd on it. It dies might start right up might wait a little while. Runs fine for a while dies same thing over and over. I a really sure it's a pmd but being so far from home we need to be as sure as possible. It still has the old black box on it in stock place yea I know it's going to be a pain to change in a hotel parking lot. If any body has any thought on what else it could be please let me know and has any one ran the bullet prof pmd or there is another one that I can't remember the name of and if so what kind of luck are you having with them. thanks for any help.

i would check fuel pressure to see what it is. i run a D Tech pmd and no problems so far. standadyne came out with a new pmd that is supposed to resist heat better so it lasts longer. never heard of a bullet proof pmd.

I talked to the local injection gut and he said price is not so much the difference but he sells both the standadyne and the d tech and he said go with the d tech. New standadyne pmd's are good but he has had no problems with the d tech it's just a better pmd he say's.

Got the piece of junk back home. Talked it over going d-tech why reward stanadyne for building bad ones for so long.

1 more question remembering this is a beat up shop truck. I know the the injectors are done they leak down at night it losses prim blows white smoke and has no power. I have a set of 83 j injectors they have 10k miles on them and I have nothing they will fit in. I know they are taller than the 6.5 injector so some line finessing will have to be done. So I'm thinking of throwing them in it. The only problem I can think of is that the injection system will not run in its prime. I don't really care about that on this one as long as it starts and runs half way decent and I am not wanting to put $500+ in this truck right now for a new set. You seam to know a lot about the 6.5 and if there is any other problems besides that I would like to here them.

you got to check if there fine threaded or not. because early 6.2s had different thread sizes so it possibly wont even screw into the head. i would go to the injection shop just to get the injectors pop tested and evened out. good way to keep engine reliable. are you also saying the truck loses its prime after it sits?

Yes they are fine thread. They are good injectors I had them rebuilt and the engine they where in died 10,000 miles later so I cleaned them up and sealed them in a bag. If you let the truck set it loses prim I think it is because the injectors leak and the fuel runs back to the tank.
