Default need help please

my truck has been been shutting down while driving and wont start back up so i was checking filters and they look fine i decided to take the turbo housing off the top of engine to look at the pump and there is alot of black soot and oil under the housing is this normal and if not what could the problem be? PLEASE HELP THANKS IN ADVANCE

how long does it sit until it starts again? have you relocated the pmd on your truck. I worked for a chevy dealer for a few years, and 90 percent of what i saw on the 6.5s was when the just stall out the pmd was burned up. They make a relocate kit for them, and a new sensor for about 300 buck.

i usually wait till tha next day to start it but i have replaced the pmd and it is located on top of wheel well behind the battery

How long ago did you relocate it? it may still be a bad sensor, has it been running wierd at all? Running rough, excessive smoke at start up?

pmd is new put it on and drove it 1/2 mile and it did the same thing ran like a dream the day it started just had new tires put on that day no smoke till it happened now it smokes at start up but only for a min or two unless it is cold then smokes a little longer

your injector pump may have failed. the 6.5 have all kinds of problems. you getting a check engine light or anything?

no codes check engine light has never come on during this

Default UPDATE

the problem to my truck has been solved. i want to thank everyone that tried to help me. the problem was easy. when i bought my new pmd no one informed me about the little diode on the old one that had to be switched over to the new one. got that fixed and have drove it 15 miles for now without it dieing.. again THANKS EVERYONE
