Default fuel sock

I have to pull my tanks to clean out and replace one of them. has any one removed the sock and left it off?? the one that I have pulled out has a hole in it any way. it is on a 83 k20 6.2 with a 6.5turbo IP on it .

i would get a new one because it filters out big particles but you could probably run without it

ok cool I am also thinking of putting a 02 ish duramax fuel filter on it so both of my trucks will take the same filter. I dont know the microns that it filters down to but it should be a lot better than the stock 2 filter system
