i doubt i has a dana 44

if the cover is round it's just a chavy 10 bolt
if it has 6 sides it's probably a dana 60. those usually came one the 1 tons

unless it was swapped it has a 6.2L

as long as everything is stock and it is a 1/2 ton it is a corporate 10 bolt 6 lug. if it is a 3/4 ton it is a corporate 10 bolt 8 lug. if it is a 1 ton it is a dana 60 8 lug... take a look in the glove box there will be a sticker in there with the alxe ratio and type of rears that are under the truck....GM stopped useing dana 44s in 1980..

so its a gm 10 bolt. got that figured out after removing 3/4" of structural grease. now i need to find out where to either get parts to fix it , or a place to get it fixed in socal. what would the gear ratios be?

gear ratio........the should be a tag attached to one of the cover mounting bolts..................if no check for a tag on the rear diff as it will have the same ratio

Spider gears dont matter what ratio ya have............unless ofcourse ya trashed the ring and pinnion
