Default REASONS FOR BLACK SMOKE

my name is Larry,I noticed someone was having black smoke problems and didn't know if they got it resolved.Here is a list of everything that can cause black smoke and thought it might be of interest to others.

BLACK SMOKE WHEN IDLING
blocked or clogged intake
blocked or clogged fuel line or filter
clogged or damaged injector(s)
broken piston rings
advanced timing

BLACK SMOKE UNDER A LOAD
egr stuck open
advanced timing
bad injection pump
blocked intake
incorrect fuel or bad fuel
worn camshaft
low compression
blocked or clogged fuel line or filter
clogged or damaged injectors
to much exhaust back pressure

Also if the fuel return line is blocked, it'll make it smoke black.

What about if it is iding and smoking a lil bit when the truck is really cold.

Default SMOKING WHEN IDLING

Some white smoke is normal,when your truck is first started and should clear up when engine warms up.If not then it could be

restricted fuel return line
retarded injection pump timing
low compression
thermostat(s) stuck open

see mine is pure black but it quits smoking when it warms up but never white its always black

blocked air intake
exhaust back pressure
fuel line, filter or injector(s)blocked or clogged or damaged
bad fuel
defective injection pump
low compression
advanced timing
worn camshaft
egr stuck open
It is very important that you pay attention to your trucks performance while driving it will help diagnose what is wrong with your truck.If I can help you any further let me know.I will be glad to help.I hope this info is helpful to you.The one nice thing about 6.5 they are very easy to work on.

see mine will smoke no matter how much throttle you give it as long as your on the throttle its smoking...and it doesn't stop does not have as much ***** as it used to real sluggish
