Default Rpm problems

My 96 has been giving me issues I cannot keep it at a constant speed when I try to hold it steady the Roma bounce up an down if I put the cruise on it will bounce up and down and rpms won't stay steady..

Did you recently fill up?? Does it seem to be lagging on power??

no it doesn't matter how much fuel is in it..and yes its lagging on power and puking out a bunch of smoke i can't drive it without fogging up the road behind me i figured out the reason for all the smoke was because i need that mechanic wastegate boost controller to bypass my vaccum system but haven't got to fix it yet..but then this problem started occuring i have been told it could be my throttle positioning sensor or (tps)

When did you change the fuel filter last??

2 months ago...i have also put the FSD on it the upgraded pmd.

Did you fill up recently?? May have gotten a batch of bad fuel (it happens) and it clogged the filter enough.

umm well it could be..but i will put more fuel in it tomorrow...but it has been puking out a bunch of smoke for the last month or so..

Top of the fuel tank, then change out the fuel filter. Be sure to dump the fuel out from the old filter into a container. This way you can see if there isn't a fatal amount of water and dirt being drawn from the tank.

not being able to hold a constant rpm is a sign your ip is going out but you have other problems so it could be anything
