Default 6.5 POS...but it might be my fault!

Ok, fellas here is a doozie for ya! 1997 3500 4x4 with the ever popular 6.5. with 195500 miles
I changed the injecters with dieselcare.com performance marine diesel fuel injector nozzles. I had a few leaking injecters but i fixed that, then i had a leaking heater element in the fuel filter housing, and fixed that, then i had a lot of jerking and crap going on so i relocated the PMD with a new one, i sill had a small fuel leak so i pulled the intake and changed rubber hoses. i don't see a leak so i think i got it licked! BUT.......now whe i give it full throttle i get the slight jerking like it's not getting enough fuel but only during WOT or when it's under a load. I have installed a new vacuum line to the wastegate, new fuel filter, new injecter nozzles. Any ideas as what it might be??????????????????????????????????

get a fuel pressure gauge and see what your running. it might be the fuel tank sock is full of crap and needs to be cleaned out. its possible your lift pump is going out. ill give you more info tommorow but im going to bed. btw who makes the injectors you put in.

Sorry for the late reply. The injectors came from dieselcare.net. The fuel tank, fuel sending unit, sock and fuel lines have all been replaced and the fuel pump also. Here is the part that stumps the hell out of me.........when i have a full tank the truck runs fine. My mechanic dropped the tank again and rechecked and changed all the o-rings. I put 90 miles on the truck and got it up to 92.8 MPH, so i loaded up the goose neck with about 10000 pounds of crap and the truck ran beautiful......until about 225 miles when the truck started it's crap again. So after i unload and drive some more i realize i have to fill up after about 100 miles of driving to keep the truck running. Now on the return trip back to SC the truck runs great with no load on the trailer but then i get to less than 1/2 a tank and the truck runs like crap again.

i'd have to say still check out a fuel pressure gauge. maybe your pump is sucking so much **** its clogging it up. the sputtering **** assuming your PMD is in check would be fuel delivery problem.

Ok, new tank and it is clean as a whistle, the PMD is brand new and relocated to a cooler place. The fuel pressure drops about 4 to 6 psi. I replaced the fuel pump today and made the problem worse.

pressure dropped when the gauge was hooked up to the fuel pump.

fuel pump is on the frame rail between the the tank and the injection pump

Could be a leak in the pickup line.
