6.5 POS...but it might be my fault!
#12
I am also having what seems to be a fuel starvation issue as my '95 6.5 T/D starts and stalls right away when cold. Ran great when warmed up, but now wont even start. Replaced burnt glow plugs and read that my timing has to be re set as it went too far advanced. How/where is such a tool aquired to re set timing if this is the issue?

need some sort of diagnostic tool such as car code or autogenuity. and you need a pump timing wrench. you can also make your own. Injection Pump Timing Wrench OTCJ-41711

The 'Notorious P . M . D .'
I was told that bucking and stalling experienced in the past on the highway, was the PMD going bad so I re located it and it ran great for weeks without a hiccup. Then came the cold start/stalling, sometimes staying running without any issues, then only stalling within minutes, if that. I just installed a new PMD and the truck is now perfect. How a PMD can go from highway bucking and stalling to running great then start/stalling, but sometimes starting and running great, is a mystery, but also a fact...what a great design! NOT.
Thanks for your feedback.
