Well so much for that..put about 20miles on the truck everything worked fine.. left it setting in the yard for about two weeks, went out today and fired it up..was idling for about five minutes and then it started too miss...wouldn't hardly idle. So i shut it down and checked the PMD heat sink...hot as hell. I had it located in the bumper, should this get hot like that? So the PMD must have gone again..cause i can hear the LP, and the IP puts fuel out the brass T fitting.

check your wiring to the pmd. is this guy you bought the heat sink from a reputable guy. also is the heatsink vertical so the heat can escape easier without going past each rung on the heatsink.

and can you clarify this for me. did you use your old pmd or a new one.

I'll check the wiring today, the guy i got the heat sink and pmd from has a good rating on ebay..it came with a 30 day warranty, just waiting too hear back from him now. The pmd is in a vertical position.Should the pmd be flat against the heat sink or should there be plastic washers between the two? I used the pmd that this guy sent me..a used one.

yes the pmd should have the washers on it so heat can flow underneath the pmd. personally i would not use a used pmd because it was probably on the injection pump and then taken off and sent to you. just because a pmd worked today doesnt mean it will work tommorw.

OK i didn't have the washers on it.. the pmd was flat on the heat sink. The guy said that he would send me another pmd..as soon as i get him back the old one. like you said, a used one is just what it is..a used one. I got too get a new pmd..and have the used one as a spare.

My PMD is slapped to a heatsink behind the bumper. I bought my pmd new from a stanadyne dealer about a year ago for 280, it came with a thin piece of paper that is supposed to go in between PMD and heatsink. So i wouldnt space it away from the heatsink with washers, the sink is supposed to "suck" the heat away from the pmd resistors. Mine never gets hot. NOW, there is also ANOTHER resistor inserted in where the plug goes into the side of the pmd, when i bought my used one it DID NOT come with one, and i didnt know, so i ran it and fried it again. It needs that resistor. They range from numbers one through nine, get a nine for a small amount more of fuel. Does sound like a pmd issue. When i got my first used one it lasted a week, it was from edam, and ebay source that sells used JUNK. Get a new one, make sure it has all resistors before you use it!!!

So when i get a new pmd will it come with a #9 Resistor or do i have too Request one..does this Resistor just add fuel or does it make the pmd run cooler and last longer.

It might come with one it might not you have to check for it. But regardless it needs one. It doesnt cool it better or make it last longer, it is just needed for the pmd to work properly... Let us know...

to tell you the truth the #9 resistor doesnt really add much power and the power it does give you, you wont be able to feel. but you do need a resistor to run
