Default 6.5 won't start

When I bought the truck it started good. After I got it home, I found out the truck had trouble starting if it was shut off for 30 plus minutes. It would start, run a few seconds, and then die. If I held the accelorator down like you would a flooded gas engine, the truck would turn over for a few seconds, start and run forever. If the truck sat for a few hours, it had no problem starting. My wife took the truck and it died a few blocks from our house, and would not start again. I changed the primer pump, and have fuel coming out the bleed valve on the filter, but no fuel coming out when I open the injector lines. It's a 93 6.5 turbo diesel, with a manual pump. Any ideas? Thanks![/I]

Check for power on both wires on the injector pump. One will be the fuel cut off and the other for the fuel return check valve. If both have power, unplug them, then plug it back in and listen for a click. Probably going to have to do it a couple times. Might be that you crank it over for a few seconds, crack and injector line, then repeat 4 or 5 more times, to re-prime the injector pump.

Man, if you were a girl I would come over and give you a big fat kiss. You really made my day with your excellent advise. My truck is running, and my wife doesn't have to run me around anymore. I hope you are having a great Christmas, because you just turned mine around. Thanks again!!!!
