Default 6.5 head gasket

I have a 94 6.5 td and the other day it started blowing clouds of white smoke.. pulled code 97. I pulled the glowplug on cylinder 7 and coolant was leaking out. I don't have any coolant mixing with my oil so I'm optimistic that it's just a head gasket.

I was wanting to know if there is anything I need to watch out for while changing out. I've done several gas motor. But this will be my first diesel

I hope it's just a gasket it could be a cracked head usually the passenger side head is the one to do it it seems I would however get the heads checked out at the very least and as far as things to note are a torch will probably come in handy to heat up exhaust bolts.

Thanks for the reply. I hope it's only the gasket. I can't afford heads right now. I'll find out tonight when I get them off
