Has anyone tried a Wellman PMD?
Wellman is making PMD's for the military application of the 6.5. does anyone have any experience with them? I am starting to have issues with 2nd PMD in the past 3 years and am dumbfounded that someone has not developed a replacement unit that is reliable. Doing some research I found that the Wellman unit is rated for temps well above what most of us would ever experience. I did see a Stanadyne PMD that they are calling bullet-proof and are putting a 2 year warranty on it.

To convert you would first of all need the IP this is easy enough to get but my understanding the bracket and throttle cable are the hardest items to come by and being a Suburban you would have to get a stand alone EMC for the automatic transmission.

As for military applications, you are correct. Confirmed this morning that they are all mechanical.
