Default 67-72 swap notes

Ok guys so im making this thread seperately from my build thread mostly to cut out the chatter and be more tech related to the swap.

MOUNTS: if you have a set of the later 67-72 big block mount brackets they should work great. I diddent trust the small block mounts so after several attempts to make the engine sit where i wanted (forward, back, up down) .. i pulled out the set of ccp tube mounts that hit the manifolds and remade the top half to give me more room. (See my youtube vids for a look) after remaking the mounts i found the factory bbc/sbc engine location to be the best looking and fitting location (go figure)

COOLING: so i was having cooling problems going up hills in 120*f weather with no load. So in doing my reserch i found the 1990 g20 van radiator to fit great (slightly off center but great) its a large 3 core meant for a 6.2. The factory g20 lower radiator hose fits like it was made for it. It jumps right over the frame rail and clears everything.. im using the factory truck radiator hose on the upper and it fits perfect as well.
FANS: with my new setup i believe a mechanical fan may be possible but i decided to go with the flexalite 298 fans they fit well and move twice as much air as my 2200 cfm generic fans. Check out my youtube vids of the swap https://www.youtube.com/user/jameskilcer
