I wanted to share with everyone how to make a spring loaded wastegate actuator.
There's not too much on the web about this and some people make it sound a little more complicated than it really is. Even if you don't want to replace it for performance reasons, I suggest replacing it anyway because it works much better than the stock vacuum actuator.


1. L bracket and a straight bracket.
Cut the L bracket to 4"x1.5"
Cut the straight bracket to 4"
- you can use existing holes in bracket or drill a hole to connect the two with a bolt and nut.
- use hole and bolt from the factory actuator.
2. Threaded rod 6.5 inches long with 10-32 threads and matching wing nut.
3. Y Yoke rod end with 10-32 threads.
4. 1 1/4 bolt and lock nut with 10-32 threads to hold yoke and rod to actuator arm.
5. Spring C-764 from Tractor Supply.
-It doesn't have to be this exact spring. Just make sure it's short and stiff.
-After searching and trying many springs, long loose springs can work but you have to compress the hell out of them and the bend up. the C-764 works best.
-the rod and everything else also does have to be 10-32. 10-24 works as well as some other sizes but 10-32 and 10-24 are close to the original rod size.

i cut the can off, cut off the diaghram, put a piece of threaded coupler over the rod and welded it. took a chevy 350 valve spring, a bolt, and a washer and tightened it til boost was right good write up
