Default cruise rpm/unhijacking thread

Glove box rpo sticker says i have 4.10's and there seems to be some disagreement on if i really do so here are some pics as promised. Suburban was a 2500 2wd and the truck got 19 mpg, the 1 ton has been doing 11-12 on my 30 mile each way interstate commute which is kind of frustrating. Engine came out of the suburban rolled one bay over and was bolted right back down in the 1 ton. Also included a pic of the 1 tons motor showing the brand new injection pump they installed trying to make it start with a spun rod bearing and 7 fried glow plugs. They also installed a new pmd/relocator, ops, glow plug relay and ignition switch harness. This was all done at a big diesel shop beware who is wrenching on your truck or you will end up selling it to someone like me for cheap and i'll build er

Cruise set on 75 mph boost gauge.

This motor is going on a stand and getting refreshed for a spare, have a spare 4l80e now too

The suburbans motor has head studs, egt/trans/boost gauges, heath tune in a new pcm, relocated pmd, new ops, new oil cooler line fittings, hd water pump w/ dual t-stats, turbo master, 4 inch exhaust w/muffler, aftermarket high volume lift pump, no leaks, new thermostats and 250k miles and that all went into the new truck. Havent swapped over the g80 center section yet but thats definitely in the near future.

Nice set..

RPO-Ratio- R/P
GT4 3.73 (41/11)
GT5 4.10 (41/10)
HC4 4.56 (41/9)
HC7 5.13 (41/8)

Look for a tag on the diff cover, should be @ 7oclock position IIRC..

Hate to say it but those are the same rpms mine ran with the wrong alt pulley. Went to a JY and pulled a alt and swaped pulley's, dropped 300rpm at 65 and almost 500 at 75.

Otherwise that's typical mpg for a truck with Heath tune and turbo master.

same alt i had in the suburban, didnt even unbolt it. Oh yea he got super defensive when i told him how many mpg's i get, told me i must have a bad injection pump

can see the accessories still bolted to the engine in the pic up above

Oh i went out and looked, the tag is gone off the diff too.

19mpg empty, normal for me. Yep, the nay sayers question my math too.

My RPM is 2500 at 75mph..

Measure the alt pulley, I'll measure mine at first light and report back.

That in a one ton dually 4x4?

Mine gets 16mpg and weighs 10k. Not saying it's not possible just that most don't.

My k1500 got 23mpg on a regular basis.

about 2 3/8 by tape measure. idle speed 550. full throttle upshits right at 3500. Monday i'll plug my scanner in and compare displayed rpm to transmission iss and see how much variance there is. i also need to just mark the tires and driveshaft and run it around and do the math. To me it seems more like it has a 4.56 gear in it but the glove box says 4.10 so i suspect it has the wrong glove box in it. Damn 20 year old trucks. How are you guys getting 16-19mpg? im only doing 11-12. Been thinking i should probably check pump timing/adjust as necessary and see if that might be out of spec but it runs great so i doubt there is much to be gained back there. New air filter, 4 inch exhaust, new fuel filter, no fuel leaks, programmer, new tires, properly functioning turbo, trans works perfect, no brakes dragging, only extra weight beyond the fifth wheel hitch, proper operating temp, new fluid in t-case and diffs, and i use cruise all the way to work and do very little in town driving. Im burning through a full tank within 400 miles.
