Google Turbo master for 6.5 they sell ready made kits or it's something you can make with stuff from your local hardware store but do get a boost gauge, and look at diamond eye exhaust for less than a couple hundred bucks I think that will do what you are looking for without having to redo the ecm.

Forget the turbo master and turbo upgrades until youve upgraded the exhaust system.
DE 4" Performance Exhaust System isnt just advertisement hype, it delivers!
May find you no longer need or desire any of that other pooh..

IMO, the adjustability of the turbomaster may of been an upgrade for the antiquated DB2 models fixed (non adjustable) boost levels, but it has no place on modern electronic fuel injected DS4 pump'd 6.5L turbo diesel thats used as a daily driver.
Want moooo powerrrrrrrrr, by all means turbomaster but after you upgrade the exhaust and added boost and EGT gages, w/ new serp belt in hand to delete the VP, all that **** just for an adjustable spring..
Then theres the annoying SES lamp intermittently flickering in your eye so a new PCM (tune), next thing you know you spent 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 hundred dollars trying to fix something thats not broke but often is misdiagnosed and routinely misunderstood..

The EFI 6.5TD claim to fame was never about max power, it was maximum fuel economy under infinitely ever changing driver and/or operating conditions. Its because of the 6.5 that the diesel wars began cause them other smokers couldnt touch it.. Thankyou very much..

And because technicians were not prepared, most had failed the 'proper training' or receive the direct instruction and supervision necessary, they often got there ***'s kicked and ego's crushed so they flamed a voiceless black box. They might as well be working on the space shuttle, facts is most GM's ASE cert diesel techs are hardly qualified to change our oil. Same as it ever was..

the turbo master is for trucks with chips, its not something you install without a programmer. check out heath diesel i have one of their chips and a turbo master and its leaps and bounds ahead of stock trucks. you will be in it $500 for both. I also have a 4 inch diamond eye exhaust which is totally worth it. Dont change the stock intake, nothing to be had there. Not really any reason to put a bigger turbo on it either tbh your stocker will do 15 psi which is normally 2-3 times what it does with a stock tune/wastegate.

To be fair i also have a mechanical pump 6.5 that i cut the vacuum can off the wastegate/welded a piece of all thread onto/put a valve spring on and adjusted to 15 psi that works exactly the same as my turbomaster for free. but it doesnt look as good.

SSdieselsupply has a chip you use without a turbomaster for cheaper, i cant review it though cause i dont have it.

Don't buy anything from SS diesel.

Leroydiesel's customer service is second to none.

On a low geared truck like yours I'd do the exhaust and an A Team Turbo. Also a KOJO tune will help you get the most out of your set up.

Leroy also has about every supporting mod you can think of and if he doesn't have it listed then ask him about it.

Could you be more specific, blanket statements mean nothing without some context.
Whats so aweful 'bout SS Diesel. They all greatly exagerate s'it to promote there own lines of crap. Leroys is no different that the rest of 'em.. SELL SELL SELL..
Sure your commission check is in the mail..

Im no fan of SS Diesel either, but theres no need in bashing the few places supporting 6.5s just to promote another..

right, i have had bad customer service experiences with everyone i have ever dealt with. thats life. Im just happy people are making 6.5 parts and try to do my own research before i buy anything not just go "oh ok, yea id like that. put it in the mail whatever you say". Saying that i have never dealt with ss or leroy. just trying to spread out options for him to do some shopping. I disagree wholeheartedly on a turbo being at the top of the upgrade list though.

I've met Leroy in person a few times, great guy stands behind his stuff.

Never met Walt but when you have an injector hang open after 10k miles and he won't warranty it you get annoyed. When his super heat glow plugs fail for the second time and he stops warrantying them your getting pretty pissed, when his engine mount pmd keeps failing (yes I know how to diagnose it) then you ask why you are still buying his crap. Further more, bout 8yrs ago I bought a truck on eBay that happened to be near Walt's shop, had it sent over there for a reman 6.2/6.5 engine (was knocking) and all upgrades (sent him $8k) flew out drove it home, a week later it spun a bearing, I paid to send it back. A year later I had a lawyer send him some paper work, I got a call a week or so later saying to come get the truck. The engine bay had none of the shiny stuff it had before, it seemed to run OK so we hauled it home. About 4 weeks later the pmd harness shorted out and burned the truck to the ground. Needless to say, I don't and will not recommend buying from SS diesel.

Now as for the turbo, this truck likely has 4.63 or 5.13 gears. The stock turbo chokes at the high rpms this engine will run, let the dang thing breath! Yes there are other mods that can be done but a turbo master isn't the answer either.

Things we all agree on.
The stock turbo is good enough for most grcery getters and daily drivers and
The Turbo Master isnt the answer either.

Making progress..

I sued GMCorp and several of its factory authorized service centers. Tried to do it small claims but the judge dismissed my case claiming the defendant was entitled to legal representation because I named the owners, the business names and LLC's on the complaint. Judge was later sanctioned for his willful malfeasance. Discovered the judge and the business owner lived on the same street and played golf together damn near everyweekend. Small towns, dealership is one of the largest employers in the area.

My civil case took little over two years before the parties began giving depositions.
End of first day, GMCorp's 800 lb gorillas that had been hendering my every move suddenly and viciously turned on there own and the case was soon settle at full face value plus all my attorney fees.
Wished I had gone to trial now.. probably won 7 figure in punitive damages but all this ******* wanted was to be made financially hole again.. Not my place to pay for OJT at factory authorized service centers. hint hint..
