coolant system

I changed my thermostats now it seams like I have air in the system the temp gage goes rite above 210 then drops rapidly then goes up again

That stat is DOA. All aftermarket stats suck, really. AC Delco and I believe Robert Shaw are the only good brand of stat for a 6.5. Replacing the stat requires purging air from the system.
