Default need help on my 99 sub 6.5

hello im new to diesels i have a 1999 sub 6.5 i bought it a month ago and its a good running truck the only problem iv been having is that the truck will not start till i open the bleeder on the fule filter and air and gas come out then i shut the bleeder turn the key back and forth a couple of times then i start it. it fires right up and runs just fine some times going up hills or if i just punch it. it will start to hesatate but does not stall and if i shut it off and go in a store and come back out i have to do all over to get it to start and if it does start with out me bleeding it. it will only go down the road for a few 100 yards and stall then i have to get out and bleed it and then it fires up no problem.the guy i got it from had just replaced the fule pump and fule filter and i replaced the lp. he said it didnt do that untill he put the new fule pump in . can any one give me some advice thanks

The filter housing has a heater on the bottom. The seal on the heater can leak and cause air to get in. Might be something to look at.

I just used 50 cent round o rings in mine and haven't had any problems. I believe the correct o ring is flat cut. You would probably have to go to a dealer for it. Ssdieselsupply has a kit but they are a pretty unpopular seller.

The housing also has a small o ring on the water sensor.

Do you have clear fuel rated hose to the IP if not get some if you have a air leak with the clear hose you will see it. sometimes an air leak is just that it will not leak fuel just air. you should be able to get the o ring at any parts store you will have to take it out of the fuel filter housing they wont have it in their computers but it costs less than $2.

Do you have a source for the bio diesel rated clear hose? Does the Feed the Beast mod increase the size of the hose?

Got my hose from the local co-op in the small engine department been using it for couple years and I do believe FTB uses a larger hose.
