need help with 6.5
first time posting hope someone can help,98 chevy 3500 6.5 all stock engine dies when coolant temp reaches 170 deg and cannot get tdc offset to reset timing is running 15 deg tdc shows 2.46 will not reset to 0 with procedure pump was replaced

The IP is out of spec and will have the corresponding trouble code.
First you will need to rotate the IP towards drivers side fender about 3mm,clear codes and then do relearn procedure with coolant 170f+ as often as needed to get in spec.
You are not looking to get TDCO to be 0,it should be -.25 to -.75 for stock spec or -1.5 to -1.94 for performance spec.
