I'd have to say after reading post again problem is in wiring...I'll do some research in n digging and post back

Thanks for the reply. Only wires hooked up at the moment are tack wires and tach acc wire. White wire to tack signal post on the 22si alt and the brown wire to acc on.

you mention that you have terminal B as shown in this 2001 diagram connected to acc,make sure that it is also powered in the key run position and for it to ioperate at all battery power is needed at the heavy batt terminal.:

it is connected correctly and has power. This alt charges when it is in motion, doesn't require a signal at all. I hooked it up anyway

I think the problem is your choice of alt.

I don;t believe that the 22si does not provide the tach signal-you need a cs144 or similar.

Well I could certainly go back to the factory alt, however the 22si has a tach signal post, I just need to match the pulley Size to get an accurate reading. I have two spare ECM units I'll probably see if perhaps a blip of current while shambling wires around didn't fry the ECM. Otherwise I'll just get auto meter guages for everything :-(
