Default Where is the cold air intake??

98 Sierra 6.5 .
I know the cold air conectes to the side of the air filter boxes , and goes into the fender , but where is the other end? It seems I am starving for air with the filter box closed up like it should be even with a new fresh filter. With the top off the box it is good, but with the top on the filter box power is much less. I reached as far as my fingers can go into the fender looking for a rag, mouse nest, wasp nest etc, but no obstructions near the air box. What I can't find is the other end where the air actualy enters the system from the outside. Do I need to remove the whole grill, head lights? or what. It has to have an opening somewhere and with an old truck I don't want to start taking off body panels that are best left as is. I would like to be able to clear what ever is blocking the fresh air flow to the filter.
Any Ideas where the end is ?

Remove the filter box and you should see where it goes into the inner fender. I dont think the 98's had snorkels in the inner fender but i could be wrong. If it does have a snorkel there will be a screw holding it into place next to the battery .

It goes into the fender well between the outer and inner fender, but it is where it comes out I am looking for. There has to be 2 ends I would think , or does it just suck air from between the inner and outer fender?

It pulls from in between the inner and outer fender. If you have the snorkel just remove it . It will still draw air from the fender and the snorkels are restrictive . You can see the snorkel on kennedy's site under tech tips/ air intake. Its the upper left pic.

That explains why I can't find the end, there is no end. LOL

98s don't have a snorkle in fender like shown on Kennedy site,

All air comes thru inner fender routed up through behind the right front marker/turn light.

98 has the round filter K47 airbox option, best from factory there is, if not going with a S&B or Heath true cold air kit, stay with OEM upgraded with a Donaldson high flow element from a Amsoil dealer
