Default 6.2L Oil Pressure Question

Just bought me a 1990 6.2L Sub V1500

I have a few different questions on it but instead of posting all them in one thread I decided to make a few different ones...I'm new to the forum so if this is a no-no please let me know.

My concern on this thread is my oil pressure. Now I've driven it on a 6 hour drive no problem as well as a 2.5 hour drive and then again 1 hour twice a day for about a 2 week period with no problems. However I noticed that my oil pressure can get up there...pegged all the way to the right. I don't know if it's just a coincidence but I always start my truck up and let her warm up for a good 5 minutes before starting my commute. If I hop in it and the "check engine light" is on I'll shut her down and restart her, and the "check engine light" does not come back on, and also SOMETIMES when I shut her down and start her back up the pressure drops off from being pegged all the way to the far right line to about 3/4 full on the gauge. I noticed that there is a small oil leak along a line under the body....it looks like it goes from metal tubing to plastic or rubber hosing and it looks like the leak is stemming from there.

The previous owner said that the oil pressure was always that high and it never gave him any problems. Another thing, Idk if its coincidence or not, but he had 36x20x13.5 tires on it, i switched to 285x16x75 and the oil hasn't been pegged to the right nearly as much...I don't know if it has anything to do with it, just thought I'd throw that tidbit in there.

As everyone knows these things have very little power so I am NOT gettin on her at all, never put the pedal to the metal-if you will. I also get paid per mile I drive so I try to drive as economically as possible, I keep her between 55-65. Like I said above, sometimes just idling she gets all the way to far right line on oil pressure guage. Should this concern me?

As far as I can tell it's not burning any oil.

Also, like I previously stated, I am new to this forum so any and all noob advice is appreciated. This is my first diesel as well. If any of you know of any other forums out there that'd be more specific to my vehicle all input is appreciated.

TIA!

Aftermarket OPS are often bad out of the box-AC Delco ONLY for OPS replacement.
