Default Another 6.5 Turbo no start help needed

Well time for one of the many geniuses on here to help me. 98 3500hd has been acting strange last few times used it dump truck not a daily). Purchased non running replaced pmd and relocation harness problem solved ran great. 106k miles. Then shortly after sometimes would start great then other times wouldn't start. Wait day or so fire right up. Has never died one time while running. Though had something to do with dual tanks. Fuel hand danced a little now seems to show half when empty so I thought ran out of fuel. Added fuel primed still no start. I've read like everyone post after post trying everything. I have 2 pmds. I bypassed fuel tanks and ran line from lift pump to fresh diesel can primed again. Sounds like is going to hit but each time it sounds like is starting doesn't. Lift pump working. Oil pressure switch working. Fuel shutoff working. Today cracked 6 of the 8 injector lines crank and was.whipping very fast all injectors where wet. I don't know about inside cylinder just on the line. Could injector pump still be bad if fuel is making it to top of Injectors? I was very surprised to see fuel and a no start situation. As dumb as it may be I did disarm glows and added wd40 through air intake and it tried to fire. I'm running out of ideas. I have tried everything but checking contacts from ecm to pmd etc. Thanks for any help.

I would get some bosch duratherm glow plugs installed-these things need glow plugs even in the summer, and then be sure that power is making it to all of them.

OK thanks will try that. Appears to have power to them just haven't tested the glows. Just seems odd after all that cranking still not hit if was only the glow plugs. At one point I had 6 of the 8 injectors cracked to prime and it was almost running somehow. Once I stop cranking it appeared to run somewhat so I tightened everything up thinking it would start still no star t.

In addition to the Bosch plugs, try jiggling the FSD harness, unplugging it and plug it back in. There might be a loose connection somewhere in the harness, try to check the entire wiring harness.

OK thanks will try that. Also makes me think to maybe try and remove the 6 foot relocation harness and plug the pmd directly in to the original harness. At this point have to try everything. I keep thinking injector pump but I still don't see how every injector line I crack has fuel if its the IP. Thanks again

Good idea. The DS4 pumps are actually rather robust from what I've read, it's mostly faulty diagnosis that results in people replacing them all the time when the problem is really something else, usually wiring related. Keep us posted on your progress.

You can make a test harness for the PMD to make sure you are getting power to all the correct terminals.

Check my threads on the 1994 K3500 from December 2013

Could someone please explain how I can have fuel to all injectors and still possibly be injector pump? I keep telling myself injector pump is working because fuel is present at line before injectors. I cracked the injector lines obviously it cranks very fast with less compression with lines loose and the truck almost seems to start. Tighten lines up and then the same thing. Cranks sounds like is going to fire then nothing. What am I missing? Thanks again

Also I have ground and power at pmd input and appear to have output voltage from pmd. Killed starter today so now that has to be replaced. Is it possible the converter is plugged? It seems to almost run when the lines are cracked and cranking. I don't see how sounds to almost start when lines cracked but when all are tight doesn't even attempt. Thanks again.
