6.2 wont start, any ideas?
Just purchased a 83 k20 6.2 was running great, starting but then I think I ran out of gas and it wont start now. Thought it was the starter at first because it wouldn't even crank. The connection was loose, solved that problem. Then I put 5 gallons of diesel in the tank and removed the fuel filter to see if it was dry but it was full. So I don't think I ran out of gas but now when I try to start it won't turn over it just keeps cranking. If there is fuel in the filter I believe there would be fuel going into the injectors? Any ideas would be great. I purchased a new starter thinking it was the original problem but I am not so sure. Appreciate any of your help

You likely have air in the high pressure side of the system that needs to be bled out.
Air can compress so the injectors won't open.
Find an easy to get to injector and crack the nut on the fuel line loose and then try starting again.
Crank for no more than 15 seconds without a 1 minute starter cool down period.
Within 3 such starting attempts it should be running and then you can tighten the fuel line nut back up.
beware of moving parts and don't get caught in anything.
The rest of the injectors should self bleed once running and you should be good to go once it evens out.

Ok. Attempted it with one, saw fuel come out and re tightened and it did not start.. Got rained out with heavy rain. Hoping to try it again tomorrow. Could there be that much air in the system it will take a while? Also should I be warming the glow plugs prior to each start? Appreciate your help!! really do.
