1992 6.2 throttle stuck, now problems
Hey guys,
what happend:
father inlaws truck, he was playing with tps trying to get shifting smoother. was on the highway and rugged it to test passing gear...throttle stuck wide open, held brakes on while slappin fuel pedal attempting to get it free, no dice...shut it off. Did not over rev or heatt far as im told
fixed throttle linkage, started truck...runs like ****. smoked(blue smoke on way home)
runs butt seems like really bad miss...idle and reving.
cracked injector lines, everyone of them makes a difference in the idle
removed valve covers, no pushrods thrown, when turning over all rockers appear to move the same. did notice some of the rockers were 'shifted' a little on the arm a little...about an 1/8 judging by the wear marks. the plastic buttons are all there, but very wiggly? could this be enough to throw the valve lift out and cause this??
Went and go an opinion...was suggested to remove pan and look for damage/crap in the pan...genius idea is my conclusion. cant get the pan off without dropping the front axle or lifting engine it seems...have the exhaust unbolted, front shaft, and the inspection cover removed.
Borrowing bore scope to peak around pan i guess...to what end i dont know anymore as i will probable never get the sob back in without a leak.
I have about a days work just gettin it back the way it was i think...in front yard rolling around underneath...good times.
I think i should have done a compression test first? then on to fuel testing??
any insight in this mess would be great...have this **** storm now and this is going to hold me up from leaving town for work.
Thanks,
Brian
