swithed out pmd and all of a sudden won't start.
96 6.5 turbo was starting pretty rough and surging while driving so i bought a 6 foot harness with a new pmd. also did a CDR valve at the same time.
i switched it out and immediately went to start it and it fired. ran good. i let it idle there for about 20 minutes drove around the block and came home and shut er down. it's a project truck so it doesn't get driven much.
any way i come back out a couple weeks later to start it and all it does is turn over. just won't show any sign of life. it's a healthy stroke but it just sounds like it's a dry start. i look in the mirror and there's usually smoke chuffin out of the muffler but there isn't now, so the engine isn't getting fuel maybe?
obviously the new PMD could be a factor but i don't get why it would have started and ran for 30 mins when i first installed it and now a couple weeks later it won't. any ideas? thanks

thanks a lot guys, but i've found a whole new problem. i was writing this forum topic out in my truck whilst trying to start it, and i went inside for a bit and came back out to a ton of diesel all over the ground. explains why it won't start . anyways, i traced the lines to the fuel filter, everything dry even the two fuel lines going in the block under the intake. but there's fuel pissing out every where when i crank it over. i can't for the life of me find a leak! and it's strange that they never leaked two weeks ago while starting it and running it, then all of a sudden it won't start and fuels pissing out everywhere. any body ever have a leak that sounds like this? it's a covered area where it looks like the leaks coming from. injector lines? thanks again guys.

Check your FFM - Fuel Filter manager - Fuel filter bowl - I've had to replace a couple of them. I actually think I need to replace or repair the FFM in the 1998 Suburban. You can pull the FFM and put up to 10 lbs of pressure to it to check for leaks.
I think they sell the FFM as a complete unit - maybe Rockauto. If you get a part number please post it up. I've always had a spare so far and haven't had to rebuild any.
I'm fresh out of spares.
I heard the parts for rebuilding are about as much as a complete unit.
It usually doesn't take any pressure to find the leaks.
Keep us posted.
