Default Help!! Won't start

Okay guys. 1994 K1500 6.5L TD. I had a really bad diesel leak coming from somewhere up top of the engine, so I pulled the fuel filter housing and intake manifold to check for leaks, thought I found the problem so I put it back together. Well it still leaked and was being a bitch to start so I pulled the manifold again only to find out that my leak was coming from my Fuel-Shutoff solenoid, I'm a fulltime student who just lost his job and can't afford **** so I just put some silicone on the oring of the FSS and put it back in and bolted everything back up together. Well now, she does NOT want to start, and my glow plugs wont turn on(Has a brand new relay). It seems like I'm getting fuel because its pushing a good deal of white smoke out the exhaust, twice now in the 15 second cranking periods she has kindof coughed like she wanted to start. I figured even without glowplugs on this 80 degree day it would atleast try to start. I'm lost and about to take it to a damn shop.

Sounds like a dead FSO that might have blown an accompanying fuse?

For testing-remove the FSO,turn it over, remove th circlip, pintle and spring-then screw the FSO body back on the IP with a good o-ring and re try starting-I wouldn't plug the electrical connection back in for that FSO..

Check all the fuses too.
