Default 6.2-5.9 Cummins Swap

I currently have a 93 Chevy k1500 6.2 4 speed manual pick up.

What would I need to do to swap a 5.9 Cummins into this truck?

Thanks

A 5.9 cummins and some fab ability and a decent amount of cash.

There are many threads about this popular swap-google it and start reading.

I'm simply looking for a guy who has experience with this model and a swap to give a list of what I would need to do because every other forum doesn't give a straight forward and logical answer. Or should I just drop a 6.5 in or turbo my 6.2?

I've been thinking about doing this swap myself... I just don't think I can get what I want out of the 6.5, plus its leaking every fluid besides fuel

There were some G body general motors buses that wre originally equipped with a 5.9.

Best would be to find 1 as a donor and make one like the other.

I have done two swaps into chevys my 1st was in 96 into a 1984 1 ton 12vcummins w/ auto 2wd,not to much work just push the firewall back or as some call it roll it back. I move the cross member back and used a turbo 400 mt for the trans mt. the 2nd was a 1996 4x4 dually in it i put a 24v w/ Edge Comp and 6 in stacks. this was a little more work as it is 4 wd but the 6.5 dumped a 5grand in it big injector, computer upgrade. don,t wast your money on a 6.2 or 6.5. And I am a chevy man been in the sense the 70s. I got all my parts this time from Dawna at Auto World 406-727-8915 great people. hope this helps

Itll cost 8-10grand. Half ton wont hold the weight of the cummins well. Motor intercooler pipes sensor adaptors autoworld mounts universal throttle cable electric fans and adaptor if ur using your original tranny and you will have to hack up firewall to wedge it in re route starter cables as its on drivers side and the 6.2 is on passenger
