6.5l build suggestions?
hey guys after a series of lousy events with my dodge i decided to sell and go back to my chevys. i sold the truck the other day and have been looking for a 90s chevy. i found a 94 chevy k1500 4x4 6.5l which has been my dream truck for many years within my budget. the truck needs an engine rebuild. what i want to know is as long as im tearing it apart are there any suggestions for performance stuff to do in there? im no stranger to the inside of an engine and rebuilding them but this will be my first diesel build. also outside of bigger turbos and big jobs are there any cheap add ons i could look into while im saving money for a bigger build. keep in mind im a 17 year old still in high school so this will be on a tight budget. thanks ahead of time, glad to be part of the forums here!

Really depends on how much you want to spend?
Scat cast steel crank?
Pennuisular diesel forged steel crank?
18:1 pistons?=higher usable boost
6.2 block?-stronger in most cases
GEP 6.5 block-best available
F vin intake and ECM if needed?
aftermarket ECM programming?
water injection?
aftercooler?
fluidamper?

I also have a 94' K1500 6.5l!
And I'm also 17! Haha
Very first mods I did on my truck were the 97?+ intake, flowmaster crossover pipe, bigger downpipe, and some good free-flowing exhaust. There was definitely a noticeable difference with all these! Better mpg, sounds better, tends to run quite a bit better without the crammed crossover.
