Default Run truck on Transmission fluid?

I have a 93 6.5 Turbo Diesel
I have seen it done online
they say it works great with mechanical ip
I have used trans fluid laying around cuz i own a shop and i would plan to filter it down to 5 micron.
Any sugestions?
Good idea? Bad Idea?
Thanks

No

Trans fluid has beeen significantly changed over the years and is meant to not burn-it is not a good lubricant to even add to diesel.

You can try if you like but I wouldn't.

racer55 i appreciate the input. I have run a little with bio diesel since the bio diesel is a good lubricant. I know the trans fluid of today has changed and that's a good point. i didn't think of that. I noticed when i would mix 50/50 bio diesel and trans fluid the engine actually got quieter is that a good or bad thing u think?

The bio is good fuel but I would not run the auto trans fluid due to all the additives.

Quieter might be bad if it's affecting timing?

Yeah i'm gonna look into it more i would think the old school fluid or dextron 2 would be ok cuz they are not nearly as advanced ill post with what i come up with. I texted my buddy for some advice. He has been a Ford diesel tech for about 15 years now, this guy is in a band and claims he runs there tour bus that's got a 7.3 ford off trans fluid. he says they save it up at dealer so when they go on tour they save alota $$$$

I would much rather run on used engine oil that is filtered and had water removed.
Waste hydraulic oil would likely be ok also?

I swear I read somewhere that automatic Trans fluid was Bad on the IP in our trucks due to the friction agents that they have in the fluid Me personally I would run waste motor oil

way too many additives to do the opposite of making fuel in ATF.

Mayhem haven't seen a post from you in a while. Have you run Waste Motor oil in one yourself? I was thinking as long as i filter it it would run fine but then i was thinking about the viscosity of the fluid. Waste motor oil seems to be very think. you think the lift pump would be able to give a copious supply to the IP? I would probibly mix 50/ 50 at the most but still it seems a little scary.
