I have a 93 gmc sierra 3500 6.5 and when i take off from a stop sign it takes off normal but then it starts to accelerate on its own and sometimes at an idle it sounds like it mis firing and shakes real bad any ideas?

 

IP problem?
Restricted IP fuel return line?
Bad injector returning too much fuel and presurizing the IP?

Now it will run for a couple minutes then dies and when its running it idles like ****....should i take the intake off the get to the IP

 

You have to remove the intake to remove the IP as for other service I can't say but assume its easier with intake off?

 

Found the problem....it was a cracked fuel line that was sucking air

It's a shame you didn't say "surging" from the start-sure its just language but it makes a big difference.
