1997 GMC 2500 6.5L TD
hey yall
so I just traded my truck for a 6.5l, and seems to run ok, until today.
issue is...driving down the road and I loose power?? the motor is running just has no jam. all RPMs are the same, gauges stay the same. its almost like your running out of fuel, but don't die.
the truck has high k like 375k
has a new pmd relocated
new OPS
fuel filter
new turbo charger west gate solenoid
FYI i haven't looked over anything above, just what I was told, and that's all the history I have.
the fuel pump below the door is working as I can hear it pre to starting.
don't no much about diesels, only had one other
any ideas would be great..
cheers

Well I grabbed a new filter and did nothing.
It stalled out on me twice, so I'm thinking it has too be a fuel issue. Maybe pump not keeping up some how or maybe the injector. Looked on online never saw a way that I can test the electrical

So I looked at FF, and was clean. I did notice now when before I start it up the WTS light goes on and off several times wile the pump is going constantly that I can hear. The LP seems to be going good check the T-Valve, so it's not plugged or anything.
Not sure maybe if the glow controller was going if it would cuz this issue I'm having ?

Once the engine is started and running, glowplugs do not come into play. Your issue could be a multitude of things. Could be overboosting (which the computer sees and defuels it, cause a lack of power for a moment), PMD intermittent failure, etc. Those are first to come to mind.
What gauges do you have? Any aftermarket gauges?
Can you explain in more detail, what is happening just prior to and during the problem time?
