can you mix heavy duty oil with regular?

i am running heavy duty oil in the truck now just wondering if i can mix the two, or will it cause harm? thanks

I have mixed 15/40 and 10/40 and never had any issues.

Just don't mix gasoline only oil with diesel rated oil,there is a lot of info here but suffice to say any oil you put in a diesel must have a C- in the API circle,if there are only S designations it is gasoline only:
