Default how fast and many random questions

how fast do you guys go idk how to phrase this but i just feel at 55 this thing is wound out is it safe to go any higher im not an idiot just not used to the 6.2 and dont want to push its limits .. has any one hooked up a tach on the 6.2 ill have more questions im sure bare with me the 6.2 is new to me thanks

Bump. I am also curious on getting a tach on my 93 6.2L. I would assume there is a speed sensor somewhere feeding the ECM. I looked at some Stewart Warner Diesel tachs but not sure where the sending units would go and which type to use. I have a performance 1 wire Alt so that is not an option (and I am not clear on how that is accurate anyway). Any ideas/guidance would be great. Perhaps the info is in my shop manual...

I suspect you will need to get a transducer style tach that clamps on an injection line and gets RPM by pulsation.
