Is the PMD different for a 1 ton (K3500) versus a 3/4 ton (K2500)?

Default Is the PMD different for a 1 ton (K3500) versus a 3/4 ton (K2500)?

I recently traded my 97 Burb K2500 for a 96 GMC K3500 Dually. I had to replace the PMD on the suburban when the issues started to happen. I bought one on ebay that worked great.

Well the GMC started the no-start and the stall while driving behaviors. It still has the PMD mounted on the IP under the Turbo Power cover. It is a black PMD.

So I went back to the vendor on ebay and the compatability chart says that the black box unit will not be compatable with the GMC.

It looked the same to me - I did not take it off just eyeballed it with a flaslight and parked the truck.

Are they the same for a one ton versus a 3/4 ton? For a 96 versus a 97? For a Chevy 6.5 Verusu a GMC 6.5?

Thank you!

~GOD BLESS~

They are the same, where there is sometimes an issue is switching between a black and grey PMD-the plug is different but can be neutered,go to Kennedy Diesels website, click tech tips,6.5 and then FSD connector interchange to get diagrams of how to make the change.
