Default 96 6.5td power/tranny problems

96 2500 with 5" exhaust. When i drive it when the engine is cold, it runs fine. When it heats up and runs heated for a little while driving over 60 steady, the tranny starts to slip. Thats not my issue though. It will blow normal smoke and drive normal cold, but when it heats up, my turbo gets super loud, like duramax/cummins loud, and i get no smoke whats so ever. I mean absolutely NONE. It feels like it has a tiny loss in passing power, but i cant really tell bc these motors dont have much power anyway. Im mostly concerned about the turbo getting loud and no smoke. Any advice? oh and its creeping up on 260k

if by loud you mean a hiss and whistle, thats all good. it means your truck is breathing like it should.
if a 6.5l smokes its your rings wore and seal when hot. let me guess, you have to top up the oil often as its burning it warming up? with 260 on it all you can do is keep an eye on oil level and let it burn some oil until rebuild. you should see another 100k easy i would think ps have you tried lucas tranny slip fix?

Tranny is most likely the tcc solenoid or the pump

injectors will smoke when stuck open. does your truck have a bit of a shake or miss to go with the power loss?
